International driving permits are now accessible to Thai passport holders through the Paotang application

Did you know that we can now easily apply for an international driving permit ourselves via the "Paotang" application without having to travel to the transport office? You can apply for both one-year and three-year permits, depending on your destination, and you can apply 24 hours a day. What are the steps? Let's take a look.

- Frontal photo, white background (taken within the last 6 months)
- Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
- Driver's license (must be valid for at least 3 months)

How to apply for an international driving license via the Paotang application
1. Access the "Paotang" application on your smartphone.
2. Press the "Services" menu.
3. Press the "Department of Land Transport" menu.
4. The application will display information on the documents you need to prepare. Press the Next button.
5. Select the type of international driving license (must select the correct one for the country you are traveling to).
  - Geneva Convention 1949, valid for 1 year, valid in 102 countries.
  - Vienna Convention 1968, valid for 3 years, valid in 91 countries.
6. Fill in your ID card information. Then scan your face
7. Upload a frontal photo taken within the last 6 months (upload up to 5 times)
8. Confirm the delivery address, pay the application fee and shipping fee via the Pao Tang app, and wait to receive the international driving license by mail

The fee for applying for an international driving license is 505 baht (excluding the 60 baht shipping fee)
