5 THINGS NOT TO KEEP IN YOUR CAR DURING THE SUMMER

The temperature inside a car parked under the sun can easily reach 65-70 degrees Celsius. This temperature level can affect the equipment and components inside the car. For example, plastic console frames can easily crack over time, and buttons made of rubber can melt and become sticky to the touch.

However, car owners often leave many items in their cars, which can be dangerous and cause damage. These items can be especially at risk if they are left in direct sunlight or in places with high temperatures for prolonged periods, such as:

  1. Power Bank
Power Bank is one of the items that many people carry with them. The chemicals in portable batteries can react if they come into contact with high temperatures for prolonged periods, which can cause the battery to explode. The explosion of the charging property is mostly caused by the projection of sparks. This can damage the equipment inside the car, such as the seats, roof panels, and insulation, and can even lead to a car fire if the components that come into contact with the sparks catch fire.
  2. Lighter
Lighter can explode if they come into contact with high temperatures for prolonged periods, as well as other flammable materials such as fuel, matches, and fireworks.
  3. Aerosol Spray
Spray cans are already under high pressure. The pressure can increase even further if they are exposed to high temperatures for extended periods, until they explode, potentially causing damage to the interior of the vehicle.
  4. Fragrance
It is not advisable to leave fragrance in the car when parked in direct sunlight for a long time. This is because the heat can cause them to dissolve and damage the car's console. In some cases, they may leak into the crevices of the console, making it difficult to clean thoroughly.
  5. Rubber products
Such as lubricant or rubber decorations are not heat-resistant and may cause the console to melt. Additionally, they can leave a permanent residue on the console. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid using these items to decorate the console.
However, if you must leave these items in the car, store them in a place that is not directly exposed to sunlight, such as the storage compartment between the front seats or under the front console. These areas are cooler than other parts of the car and can help reduce the risk of damage.
